The Wolf of Wall Street is really the only ensemble here that I think works as a whole, to be honest. The rest may have large casts (Side Effects unseen), but overall I felt that they were littered with poor performances. But, that's just my opinion...
1) The Wolf of Wall Street 2) American Hustle 3) 12 Years a Slave 4) Prisoners
There's always at least 1 film that I have a hard time singling out any particular person, cause they're all good. This year, both Prisoners and Side Effects were that for me. Hugh Jackman gave a great underrated performance, and Melissa Leo is chilling. Side Effects was released too early in the year for anyone to properly remember it, but I think it might be the best film to come from that time. Solid performance all around.
