Awards - Golden Globes (HFPA)

The Golden Globes, the annual awards of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, have announced their nominees. Always one of the biggest parties in Hollywood, and this year Ricky Gervais will be hosting again. Should be entertaining as hell! Leading the way is the darling of the year to date, The Artist, landing 6 nominations. The Descendents close behind with 5, while The Help, Moneyball, The Ides of March, and Moneyball all received 4. On a more personal note, I think the Globes have actually lost a lot of their luster and "importance" as of late, and they seem to be going the way of more of a 2nd-rate show. Maybe just me. If you need proof, watch the opening speech from Gervais last year. "The Tourist? Really?" Although I must also say that I do think this year's nominees are much more a solid and deserving group.
