10 Films remain for Best Visual Effects

The Academy has narrowed the shortlist for Best Visual Effects in half, down from 20 to 10. Which means Bridge of Spies, Chappie, Everest, Furious 7, Hunger Games, In the Heart of the Sea, Jupiter Ascending, Mission Impossible, Spectre, and Terminator are all no longer in the running.

All the members of the Visual Effects Branch are invited on January 9, to view 10-minute excerpts from each of the remaining films, from which the final 5 nominees will be chosen. The 10 films remaining in competition for consideration are...
