2012 Awards -- BAFTA nominations

The friends across the pond in the British Academy have announced their nominations, and Lincoln is in the lead with a total of 10, but amazingly a big snub for Mr. Spielberg in the director column. How does THAT happen?

They switched it up a bit this year with their voting process, going straight for the final choices. Where-as in the past, they have narrowed their selections down to a "long-list" of choices before the final nominees were announced. Flying a bit blind, as is the Academy. Hard to predict some of the final choices when several groups, guilds, etc.. haven't even announced yet.
