2015 Awards -- Washington DC Film Critics Nominees & WINNERS

Another of the big critics groups has announced it's choices for the year. Another strong showing for Mad Max, particularly in the tech categories, as well as a win for director, but the top prize goes to Spotlight, which also took another award for ensemble cast. Alicia Vikander was able to avoid a split vote for her double-nomination in the supporting actress category, taking the prize home for Ex Machina. And Saoirse Ronan earns herself another win as well. No big surprises really, except maybe the first mention of Inside Out being singled out for screenplay and not just for animated feature, which it also won. Nice to see a few mentions of Sicario as well, including it's win for original score by Johann Johannson, who was a front-runner for score last year before losing out to the woefully overdue Alexandre Desplat.
