The long-list of films in contention for Best Visual Effects has been announced. In previous years, they later narrowed this list down again, down to 7 possible nominees. However, since the category will contain 5 nominees from now on (as it should've been for a while now), instead of the usual 3, I'm not sure whether they're doing a shortlist later on. Maybe like Best Foreign Language Film, where they narrow it down to 9 first? We'll see. Anyways, here are the 15 semi-finalists for Visual Effects:

If I had to pick the five nominees, I'd probably go Chronicles, Harry, Inception, Iron, & Tron, with Alice & Scott Pilgrim as backups. Would love to see a Pilgrim nod here tho.
