Several years ago, the Academy tweaked the rules of the Animated Feature category to make the number of nominees depend on the number of films submitted. Any years where we have 16 of more, we can have a 5 nominee category. Well, this year we had a record 27 FILMS submitted, and it's actually the first time in years where it's not a matter of what will get in, but tougher what will be left out, cause IMHO, there are a good 8/9 films that are solid contenders for at least a spot at the table, still quite a few I know little-to-nothing about, and several that you can pretty much call dead on arrival.
